Tender description

The Children and Families Act 2014 provided an overhaul of the Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) system. In terms of Education, Training and Employment, Sefton Council’s ambition for all young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) is that they are able to achieve their potential. High quality provision should be in place to enable young people to progress in learning, with the long term aim of achieving paid employment. All Local Authorities have now received funding to conduct a Review of Special Educational Needs provision and funding. Nationally all Local Authorities are struggling to match demand: resource as outlined in the Association of Directors of Children’s Services report. Sefton’s School Forum have agreed to support overspend for 2018/19 only, this is dependent on Sefton MBC leading a review to enable the resource to match demand. Keywords: Education, Special Needs, Review, Children
