Tender description

The North Pennines AONB Partnership, hosted by Durham County Council (DCC), is looking to conduct a future procurement exercise for an Atlantic Geopark digital interpretation project, funded by INTERREG. The North Pennines AONB Partnership is the lead partner for Work Package 6 (Digital Geological Interpretation) of the INTERREG project and will lead on a European-wide tender for ICT services to deliver geological, historical and landscape interpretation across the 11 Global Geoparks. Our vision is to make learning and understanding about the geological heritage of the Geoparks more appealing to the general public; encourage interaction and engagement with the geological heritage of the Geoparks by adults and children; and to open up areas to exploration which otherwise aren’t accessible. The project outputs will need to include audio trails, augmented reality and a treasure hunt function, for each of the 11 Geoparks as a way to engage people and encourage the exploration and understan.
