As a part of a planned sourcing activity for the provision of automated nucleic acid extraction equipment, Public Health England (PHE) is organising two Supplier Days on the 18.7.2018 and 19.7.2018 in Colindale. PHE wishes to further develop high-throughput and cost-efficient molecular services, including but not limited to whole genome sequencing services, across its National Infection service (NIS), we seek to procure one (or more) systems for the automated extraction and purification of nucleic acids (both DNA and RNA) from diverse microbes (bacterial, fungi and viruses) and sample matrices (whole blood, serum, plasma, CSF, respiratory specimens, urine, stool, environmental samples, food matrices, broth and agar cultures). Although this will be a capital purchase, it is intended that any service, support and supply of bespoke consumables (if applicable) will be covered for the lifetime of the equipment or until PHE re-tenders the requirement. Any equipment and services being offered must support International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189: 2012 and ISO 17025: 2005 under which PHE’s lab services operate. The initial requirement is for the Genome Sequencing Delivery Unit based in Colindale, London. However, PHE has laboratories located throughout England and new requirements could be identified during the course of this contract.
