Politics Plus are working with NICVA and Irish Rural Link to deliver the Next Chapter project and we wish to appoint a supplier to design and deliver a Decision Making, Politics and Public Life training module. SEUPB are the managing authority of this project. The Next Chapter is a new project targeting women to develop their ideas, build communities and support the transition out of conflict. The Next Chapter aims to improve the representation of women in public and political life and contribute to a more gender-sensitive society in Northern Ireland and the border regions of the Republic of Ireland. The Next Chapter will include the creation of a network of people working together to support peace and reconciliation, mobilising social change in their own communities. Suppliers are now invited to submit a tender for the provision of the design and delivery of a politically themed training opportunity. The training will look at the democratic and legislative process in the NI Assembly and the Houses of the Oireachtas and the Electoral system (NI and ROI). It will examine not only the elected positions, but various committee memberships who play a critical role in the formulation and development of policy. The various elements will have a focus on active citizenship whereby women are are encouraged to identify their barriers to participation and how they might overcome them. The training should outline key features of legislation, policy advice and political consulting and their impact on governance. Moreover, the training will provide insight into how strategic thinking plays an integral part in any leadership role. Other elements will look at analysing complex data and the role of boards and committees across the public, private and third sectors.
