Advert: Household Waste Recycling Centre in the West Maidstone/ Tonbridge & Malling area Requirement: KCC wishes to receive proposals from any interested parties who has or can acquire land and would finance the build and operation of a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), with potential to enter into a fully contracted service. It is envisaged the contract would be of a significant length (20 years plus) and KCC would pay an operation fee to include design and construction costs. Other financing options would be considered by KCC. The new HWRC must be: • on suitable land between 1 and 5 hectares in size • be easily accessible to the primary road network • within the administrative area of Kent and within or close to the preferred search area shown on the map in the background document, defined as “to the west of the Maidstone Town Centre and the town of West Malling but contained within the proximity or locality of the M20 A20 corridor” Submission of proposal: Please send an outline proposal of no more than 500 words, detailing information regarding the land and how the land would adhere to the requirements stated above, please ensure responses include: - Size of land - Accessibility - Location Please send you responses to: wastecoordination@kent.gov.uk Please see document attached for background information.
