British Antarctic Survey (BAS) will be tendering their Marine Contingency Workers services later this year, but want to get closer to the marketplace to help define their business requirements and contracting strategy. Equally BAS want to collaborate with suppliers by sharing these business requirements at an early stage and actively seek supplier feedback. Accordingly, a supplier day will be held on the 19th and 20th July where the representatives of BAS look forward to holding positive and engaging discussions with suppliers who share the passion for world leading polar science and research. To register your interest in attending one of the pre-market engagement days please email professionalservices@uksbs.co.uk by 14:00hrs on 16th July 2018, your email must include the reference PS18170. On receipt of your request UK SBS will provide you with an appointment. The pre-market engagement days will take place at the following address: British Antarctic Survey High Cross Maddingley Road Cambridge CB3 0ET The estimated total value of the contract will be £2,400,000.00 excluding VAT. The total contract duration is still being agreed, however this is likely to be 3 years with the option to extend for one year. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS All agencies must have Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 Certification on or before the commencement of the contract. All supplied mariners must meet the requirements for the job role and must hold the relevant certification to work our vessels including medical certification (ENG1) and passport. Workers are also required to complete a BAS Medical Unit (BASMU) medical check. Medical checks will require final sign off by BASMU before workers can be deployed.
