Birmingham Airport has benefitted from significant passenger growth in the past few years and following a review of surface access options an opportunity has been identified to introduce a dedicated private hire taxi service to the Airport to complement the existing hackney carriage operation and offer our passengers a choice of onward travel options. In order to provide this additional service, the Airport has decided to appoint a third party to set up and operate an official private hire tax service on a concession basis. this will run for either a 3 year or 5 year period. Proposals will be sought on both options. The service will allow passengers an ability to pre-book single and return journeys both on-line via an app or in person at the Airport. It will also provide an opportunity for companies to charge journeys to a corporate account.
