Royal Greenwich Quietways Project Engineer

Tender description

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking to appoint a consultant engineer to develop high quality walking and cycling schemes that support mode shift away from private vehicles, whilst supporting the Council’s wider strategic objectives. The engineer will be required to fulfill all of the requirements of the Principal Designer under CDM (2015) for the Royal Borough’s Quietway schemes. They will also ensure that all designs are consistent with the London Cycling Design Standards (LCDS), Quietway design standards, compliant with the Disability Discriminations Act, and in conformity with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD). The engineer will need to work closely with the Royal Borough’s Quietways Project Manager, Transport Strategy team and other Council departments, as well as delivery partners such as Transport for London (TfL) and Sustrans. The Council is seeking to award a five month contract, with the consultant working four days a week at our office in Woolwich. However, RBG reserves the right not to appoint, the right to reduce the contract term, and the right to interview consultants if necessary. Any costs incurred as a result of tendering for this opportunity are at the supplier’s own risk and will not be reimbursed by the Council.
