Network Rail is undertaking a review of Point Operating Equipment (POE), with a view to redefining specifications to deliver aspirations of improved reliability, availability and safety. Network Rail welcome your views on this requirement. This engagement exercise is being used to gauge what equipment is currently available, how it meets our aspirations, to inform our specification and tender criteria, and gauge the appetite of suppliers to develop their products to support our aspirations. New equipment will be accepted onto the network using the Common Safety Method — Risk Assessment (CSM-RA) and will demonstrate Design for Reliability (DfR). With increasing utilisation of mechanised track installation and maintenance, we are looking for in-bearer, or on-bearer, solutions that are compatible with On Track Machines (OTM) such as Tampers and Dynamic Track Stabilisers (DTS), as well as Tilting Wagon panel delivery.
