Tender description

The provision of Emergency medical airfield cover for Boscombe Down Aerodrome. The provision of emergency medical airfield cover to the MOD site at Boscombe Down Aerodrome. The core purpose of the requirement is immediate emergency medical cover to preserve life as safely as possible by providing triage, life saving first aid, Basic life support and Advanced life support, until casualties can receive the advanced trauma response and onward caulty transfer provided by the NHS ambulance service. The contractor will be required to provide: An all terrain patient carrying vehicle manned by 1 healthcare professional council (HCPC) paramedic, 1 institute of Healthcare and development (ICHD) Ambulance technician or equivalent level. The cover will be required for 240 working day of which 104 days out of that total can be extended to cover night flying operations within 24 hours notice to the contractor. A maximum of 700 hours per year in addition to the 240 working days and weekend stated above can be provided of 65 hours in any calendar month. The hours associated with night operations are part of these 700 hours.
