Summary of the work Oracle Database Designer and Administrator able to action the requirement of ViSOR Governance and Change Management Groups and design changes to an Oracle Database to facilitate changes on the application. Engage in their deployment on the Police National Computer. Act on requests for large scale data extracts and FOI requests. Specialist role Designer Expected Contract Length 2 years Latest start date Sunday 1 July 2018 Maximum Day Rate £800 Who Speclialist Work With Specialist will be working directly with a Business Design Systems Analyst, 3 Oracle Developers, 2 Oracle Test Analysts, the Product and Service Manager. Plus regular interfaces with Governance members, users and PNC technicians What Specialists Work On ViSOR Releases for 2018/19, Support for ViSOR Migration, Static Maintenance Releases, 3rd Line Support on Business Issues, Data Extract Reports, FOI Requests, Input on ITHC issues, Assistance with transition to NLEDS, Support improvements to Business Continuity Skills & Experience • Oracle Database Administration and design on multiple versions of Oracle 7 through to 12. • Advanced Database Design and implementation using various toolsets. • Knowledge of supporting tools such as TOAD, Rational Toolset and Oracle Enterprise Manager. • Knowledge of supporting Oracle toolsets such as Application server. • Knowledge of development design from J2EE and Web Based applications. • Advance Tuning and performance management skills. • Knowledge of Windows, Unix and Linux OS to support development. Nice to Haves • Working knowledge of client tools and good understanding of client practices • Good business knowledge of Offender Management and Intelligence based system including knowledge of current legislation • Excellent ability to deal with users regarding live support and data requests Work Location 1st Floor, Fry Building, 2 Marsham Street, London,SW1P 4DF. Or, Bernard Weatherill House, 9th Floor, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA Working Arrangments Expectation to be onsite for 5 day working week. However, home working facility being sought for use no more that 2 working days per week. Onsite working to be in a secure area with JDT-ViSOR Security Clearance SC and NPPV Level 3 No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria • Flexible, Supportive, Questioning and Calm • Work as a team with our organisation and other stakeholders, including willingness to share information and pass knowledge • Transparent and collaborative when making decisions • Have a no-blame-culture and encourage people to learn from their mistakes Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 50% Cultural fit 20% Price 30% Questions from Suppliers 1. Would SC clearance be enough for an individual to commence work on the project or is NPPV Level 3 required before one can start onsite? NPPV Level 3 would be required prior to commencement onsite. ViSOR and NPIRMT standards require this given the sensitivity of the application 2. Will the Home assist with our SC cleared Business and Systems Analyst through NPPV Level 3? The Home Office can advise on the NPPV Level 3 clearance process but active administrative assistance is not given. 3. Is there an incumbent in the role currently please? The role is currently fulfilled by an incumbent 4. Please can you confirm the IR35 status of this role? 2) Please can you confirm if there is a current incumbent in the role? The IR35 status of the current incumbent is ‘exempt’ 5. In regard to the below experience required - could you please clarify if you are looking for the successful candidate to have worked on these specifically? Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2009, Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009, Sexual Offences Act 2003 (Remedial) (Scotland) Order 2011, That would be preferable, but if a candidate can demonstrate good knowledge of the legislation that would suffice.
