Tender description

Somerset County Council is seeking to establish an Insurance Framework Agreement for Academies and Academy Trusts in Somerset and the South West Region. The Council has capacity and structure within its existing Insurance Team to provide a range of services to Academies including the provision of insurance and risk management services. The procurement process will appoint a single economic operator to the Framework Agreement for the provision of services. The appointed economic operator will be an Insurer on a direct-deal basis or a Broker or Managing Agent exclusively supported by an Insurer. The Framework Agreement will establish the terms and conditions of business between the Authority and the appointed Insurer for the provision of Insurance services to Academies and Academy Trusts. Appointment to the Framework Agreement will be to a single economic operator. Through the Framework a package of Insurance Policies will be made available to Academies and Academy Trusts on the basis of Long Term Agreements of 3 years + 2 years. The range of covers required are: a) Material Damage (including Terrorism); b) Business Interruption (including Terrorism); c) Works in Progress – “All Risks”; d) Money; e) Employer’s Liability; f) Public/Products Liability; g) Governors’ Liability; h) Libel and Slander; i) Hirers’ Liability; j) Fidelity Guarantee; k) Personal Accident; l) School Journey; m) Engineering Inspection and Insurance; n) Deterioration of Stock; o) Commercial Legal Expenses; p) Motor including OBU; q) Professional Indemnity; r) Trustee and Trust Fund Indemnity This Framework Agreement will be open to Academies and Academy Trusts within the areas of Somerset County Council, North Somerset Council, Bath and North-East Somerset Council, Dorset County Council, Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council, Torbay Council, Bristol City Council, Cornwall Council, South Gloucestershire Council, Wiltshire County Council, or any of their successor organisations.
