Tender description

Provision of Private Patient Radiotherapy services. This Prior Information Notice relates to the future planned procurement of Private Patient Radiotherapy capability in the Guildford area. RSCH currently has five linear accelerators and six bunkers at its Guildford Hospital site and two further linacs at its Redhill facility, providing state of the art radiotherapy services to both NHS and privately funded patients from across a wide geography. The Trust will be seeking suitable and capable suppliers of radiotherapy services to develop a long term partnership to provide radiotherapy services specifically for private patients in the Guildford area, this facility may or may not be on the RSCH hospital site. Successful bidders will be expected to demonstrate experience and capability of providing such services and will have a vision not only of how the service will operate and be provided but also as to how this partnership would develop in future years. The purpose of this PIN is to commence a consultation and market engagement process to co-design a service specification to meet the need to provide private patient radiotherapy services in the local area. Following this RSCH expects to conduct a tender exercise for the service as required under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This process is expected to be completed and the successful provider(s) mobilised by 1.4.2020. Interested potential bidders are invited to speak to the Trust in advance of the tender process to discuss current thinking and options by speaking to the Deputy Director of Strategy, Joe Mills, at joe.mills@nhs.net An expression of interest in this market engagement exercise will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise. The subsequent procurement will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement when published. Please note that this is not a Selection Questionnaire (SQ), we are using the functionality within the procurement portal to communicate with interested parties. A decision has yet to be taken as to which procedure will be used for this procurement but given the nature of the requirement and the expectation that this will be fulfilled by some type or joint venture between RSCH and the successful bidder it is likely that either the Competitive procedure with negotiation or Competitive dialogue procedure will be used.
