Tender description

It is the intention of Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) to invite independent Providers to tender (Process: Light-touch regime open procurement process) for the 3-year contract to run a 30-bedded Step-down Unit on the Clatterbridge site for clinically optimised patients who no longer require care in an acute setting but require an extended stay due to either further assessment or low level medical/nursing intervention before they can be discharged to their own home or other community setting. The Trust intent to conduct a Pre-market engagement day for suppliers on 11.7.2018. Further details including venue and time will be provided on a later date. It is the intention of Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) to invite independent Providers to tender (Process: Light-touch regime open procurement process) for the 3-year contract to run a 30-bedded Step-down Unit on the Clatterbridge site for clinically optimised patients who no longer require care in an acute setting but require an extended stay due to either further assessment or low level medical/nursing intervention before they can be discharged to their own home or other community setting. The fully equipped Unit will be provided and maintained by WUTH but will be managed independently by the Provider who will assume responsibility for all operational aspects including staff. The beds are intended to be short stay beds with a maximum extended stay of up to 3 weeks but it would be anticipated that the length of stay would be shorter. The beds will be supported by a full Multi-disciplinary team including medical cover, dedicated social work and access to therapy. The Provider will ensure that all patients receive a high quality service that reflects outcome based care and support in a safe and supportive environment using evidence based practices which meet all professional care standards. The Provider will be expected to work in partnership with the Wirral Health and Social Care economy. The Trust intent to conduct a Pre-market engagement day for suppliers on 11.7.2018.
