Tender description

To provide a rapid diagnostic system for respiratory pathogens including influenza A, influenza B, RSV, Parainfluenza and mycoplasma pneumonia. 3. Scope of the requirement Public Health Wales Microbiology Division provides medical microbiology services to a number of communities in Wales. It also hosts a range of national and UK reference and specialist units. System to be placed in laboratory areas at multiple sites across Wales. PHW wish to provide services to a number of acute sites supported by the PHW Microbiology laboratory services including: — Ysbyty Bangor, Bangor, — Glan Clwyd, Rhyl, — Wrexham Maelor, Wrexham, — Bronglias Hospital, Aberystwyth, — Glan Gwilli, Carmarthen, — Singleton Hospital, — Morriston Hospital, Swansea, — Princess of Wales, Bridgend, — University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, — Llandough Hospital, Cardiff). Stage 1 — Dialogue with interested bidders The PHW Microbiology Division will invite bidders to present their potential service offer. The purpose of the presentation is to allow the project team to engage the market to determine capability, latest technological developments and ascertain indicative charges to support the development of a business case. The presentation will include a question and answer session that allows both the Microbiology Division and the bidders to raise any points of clarification.
