Tender description

The Money Advice Service (MAS) is interested in procuring a replacement for it's current Car Cost Running tool. Therefore MAS would like to ascertain the availability of such a tool in the market and would like to hear from any providers who can offer such a service. The Money Advice Service (MAS) currently operates a Car Running Costs tool on its website. It’s purpose is to encourage customers to consider the full cost of running a given car before making a purchase decision. This is not a revenue or lead generating tool. The tool allows customers to input the number plate of a (used) car they are interested in buying. This then returns a variety of running cost information including: fuel costs, service and maintenance costs, car tax, depreciation. The tool also runs HPI checks against the car. MAS is interested in procuring a replacement for this tool that features an enhanced feature set – specifically to facilitate easier comparison, to support customers at earlier stages of the car-buying journey, and to reduce the rate at which no data is returned. MAS is not able to fund a full bespoke tool build so we are looking for an off-the-shelf tool that fulfills this customer need which can be white-labelled and used on the MAS website. To that end, we would like to ascertain the availability of such a tool in the market and would like to hear from any providers who can offer such a service. This request constitutes a pre-market engagement process ending 20.7.2018. Any award of a contract for this service would be as the result of a formal tender process.
