Network Rail requires Collector Shoe Detectors to detect if all collector shoes are operational on the new class 700 trains. Network Rail has written a presentation pack with further information on the above. Suppliers are invited to request the pack by contacting Brandon.vaughan@networkrail.co.uk. If following receipt of the pack you are interested in discussing the requirement with Network Rail, please confirm your contact details at the above email address by the 23.7.2018. Network Rail may then invite suppliers to discuss the requirement further. Collector Shoe Detectors are required for installation on the new Class 700 trains. These trains have been fitted without retractable collector shoes, which are used to collect the current from third rail. Without the ability to retract there is risk of the device being dislodged during operation. The goods are required to detect if all collector shoes are attached and operational. The quantity required is currently unknown and the specification of the goods is yet to be defined. The estimated date for the publication of the contract notice is indicative and subject to the result of this engagement event.
