Tender description

NWIS has recognised that a clinician needs access to up to date information and searching tools in order to provide the best, evidence-based care to their patients. In addition, it has recognised that in order to deliver high quality care, the right information needs to be available in the right place to the right people. As a result of the above considerations, NWIS took over responsibility of providing electronic resources when it was set up. The procured electronic resources include electronic journals, bibliographic and full text databases, point of care tools and evidence-based resources and guidelines. These resources form a service now known collectively as the NHS Wales Clinical Knowledge Service. The Clinical Knowledge Service has proved to be very successful and NWIS have been successful in securing further funds from Health Education and Improvement Wales via Welsh Government to expand the e-Library. It is now seeking to procure resources via an Open OJEU tender process.
