Tender description

Continuation of an existing Enterprise asset management (EAM) Software as a service, including software enhancements, maintenance and support arrangements. This is a critical IT system that supports 2 000 users and is essential to the delivery of the Environment Agency's annual 120 000 000 GBP asset maintenance programme to ensure assets remain in good condition and operationally ready for flood incidents. We need to secure the continued operational use and support for the current system over the coming 3 years while work on the delivery of a longer term replacement is completed and procured. The current EAM system has specific and unique characteristics and functionality which satisfies the Environment agency's particular requirements and is provided directly by Trimble as the EAM Software owner. It is considered that it is not technically possible for another supplier to perform the proposed contract on the grounds outlined in this notice and therefore there is an absence of competition. Trimble is the owner of the Intellectual property rights (IPR) for the EAM system and is the sole provider of licenses, maintenance and software support. Trimble is therefore the only provider able to provide the licenses, maintenance and support of the software.
