Tender description

Dumfries and Galloway Council requires the provision of an Occupational Health services for all Dumfries and Galloway Council employees. This includes pre-employment health assessments, health assessments, home visits, health surveillance/monitoring, specific health surveillance, vaccination/inoculation programmes, health examination/medicals, workplace visits/inspections, counselling and Physiotherapy. A comprehensive OHS is required to preserve and enhance the health of employees and to advise the Council on all matters regarding health and, in particular, the health of its employees at work to meet with current Government initiatives on healthy workplaces. Provide a qualified physiotherapy service (including additional therapies/treatment options and a wide range of techniques) to employees who are referred on the basis that they have experienced accidental injury, general musculo-skeletal problems or other health problems and would benefit from physiotherapy assessment and/or treatment. Provide a counselling service to employees who are referred on the basis that they would assess and provide the necessary counselling service including alcohol and drug counselling, to employees who would benefit from counselling assessment and/or treatment. Provide a drug and alcohol testing service on request from Dumfries and Galloway Council for the following reasons: Just cause testing, where there is a justifiable reason to do so e.g. where an employee is suspected of being under the influence of a substance which would have an adverse impact on their work or has the potential to put themselves or others at risk, or has been involved in an accident, incident or near miss. Pre-employment screening will be carried out for preferred candidates being considered for safety critical roles. Random testing for those engaged in safety critical roles As part of an agreed substance misuse recovery programme.
