Swansea University has recently secured funding from the Welsh European Funding Office and the Welsh Government’s Department for Health and Social Services in order to build portfolios of intellectual property and commercialisation opportunities across the Welsh NHS, at Swansea University and beyond. The Program, AgorIP, will run until 31.12.2020. The University through AgorIP has had recognisable success in developing commercially exploitable IP. The AgorIP project have identified the need to expand the support offered to its project partners, during the progress stages of projects, In-line with the EU Technology Readiness Levels (TRL’s). To assist with this stage of the development AgorIP are looking to engage a company / organisation that can manage and provide a selection of companies/organisations that will supply the complete industrial/product design service at all levels of the TRL’s for a vast range of diverse projects. The AgorIP project have identified the need to offer additional support to its project partners, during the design and development progress stages of projects, In-line with the EU Technology Readiness Levels (TRL’s). To assist with this stage of the development Swansea University / AgorIP is procuring a company / organisation to serve as Design technology manager. The Design Technology Manager will be able to source and enter into contracts with design houses that will be able to provide design services and prototypes, develop applications for mobile apps and perform other early stage design and development technologies. In addition, provide access to companies/organisations that will supply the complete industrial/product design service at all levels of the TRL’s across a wide variety of sectors. With the advice and guidance of the AGORIP project, the Design Technology Manager will either perform the services itself or enter into subcontracts with the service providers most appropriate for the relevant technology and tasks. The Technology Manager will administer the contracts including all of the financial arrangements. The University intends to undertake the contract until December 2020 with an estimated contract value of 250 000,00 GBP over the period. However the University will reserve the right to extend the contract up to the value of 400 000,00 GBP against the tendered rates upon agreement by both parties. The University will reserve the right to procure services from other organisations where, for example, we believe unique specialist skills are required, where they are mandated by funders of University research or where we perceive a potential conflict of interest.
