Award of Provision for Visually impaired at Pearey House

AWARD ONLY OF:- Visually impaired services via Pearey House Centre which is the only resource of this type available for people within the local area. The main aims and objectives of the service are: •To provide indiscriminate support, training and leisure opportunities to visually impaired people within North Tyneside. •To act as a pathway to other services provided by their multi-agency approach and offer advice on specialist equipment from a range of suppliers. •To enhance social integration, communication and independence. Facilities at the centre include a gym, computer suite therapy room and a library of talking books and a day centre. 67 people from North Tyneside currently attend the day centre which is open 4 days per week. There is currently a waiting list of 8 people.
