Supply and Installation Of A High Temperature Mechanical Test Machine The University of Birmingham invites tenders for the supply of a high temperature mechanical test machine. The machine should have capability to carry out a range of tests under uniaxial loading at temperatures of up to 800 degrees Celsius in air. A particular requirement is to perform tests under slow fatigue and dwell fatigue cycles. The baseline cycle is trapezoidal 1-1-1-1 seconds and the dwell cycle is up to 1-3600-1-1 seconds. A machine rated to 100kN equipped with a load cell of 100kN is required. The budget for this equipment is approximately £45,000 to £50,000. This project is funded by the European Structural Investment Funds. Should the project encounter any budgetary constraints then the University reserves the right to withdraw the requirement.
