Summary of the work Senior technical position that requires specialist skills in the deployment of systems/ solutions which are mission critical and spread across multiple sites. Responsible for all technical elements involved in planning, design, options appraisal, testing and delivery of the end product. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length Six (6) months with option to extend by three- (3) monthly increments. Latest start date Monday 4 June 2018 Maximum Day Rate Budget Maximum Day Rate of £750. Who Speclialist Work With This requirement will support the ARP Technical Team, the wider ARP team and English NHS Ambulance Services. Working relationships will include Home Office emergency services programme teams and supplier technical design and implementation teams. What Specialists Work On 1. Be the technical specialist for control room solutions and manage the following aspects: capacity, availability, quality, configuration and risk and issue management; 2. Responsible for providing expert advice, research and development; 3. Input in to Service Delivery products such as capacity, business continuity and availability strategies and plans; 4. Lead and drive the full suite of testing; 5. Support contractual/ SLA negotiations; 6. Lead change and release activity; and 7. Lead training of user groups. 8. Responsible for Network Design and Assurance. Skills & Experience • Be Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA) • Be experienced in testing communication technologies in operational environments • PRINCE2 Practitioner • ITIL qualified • Proven track record in delivering high quality command and control of high profile events across multiple organisations • Clean driving licence Nice to Haves • Evidence Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) • Experience/ qualification in Agile working • Hold or be capable of attaining SC Clearance Work Location This role could be based at either ARP's central London office or South Yorkshire office. Working Arrangments This role is full-time (9-5, M-F) for up to six (6) months. Expenses will be paid at AfC rates for mileage reimbursement for travel to locations other than office base. Train and overnight stay bookings, if required, will be booked and paid for centrally. Security Clearance This role requires SC Clearance. Q1. What is the IR35 status of the role? / Does this role fall within or outside of the IR35 legislation? A1. The Ambulance Radio Programme plan to agree outcomes-based work packages with the Provider. We do not, therefore, anticipate this requirement falling within IR35, as a substitute could be offered during the duration of the agreement. However, any Provider being awarded this opportunity would need to take the IR35 test and determine for themselves whether this requirement is inside IR35 or not. 2. Q2. Is there a current incumbent? / Can the Authority please confirm if there is a current incumbent to the role or whether this is a new requirement? A2. There is a current incumbent in the role who is to retire in the near future. It is intended that the Provider will have a handover with the incumbent. 3. Q3. The requirement states: "This role could be based at either ARP's central London office or South Yorkshire office." Can the Authority please clarify whether they will decide the base location or if this is the choice of the Supplier, based on the individual's/ individuals' location(s)? A3. The decision on base location will be agreed with the Provider based on the preference of the individual/ individuals.
