Tender description

The requirement is for the Provision of Funeral Services for the Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust. The Contractor will be required to carry out cremations and burials as instructed by the Trust. The Contractor will provide the service in accordance with the 'Code of Practice of the National Association of Funeral Directors' and the NHS Terms and Conditions of Contract for the Supply of Services. The requirement will be for Funeral Director's services, provision of additional staff and/or bearers, provision of a coffin suitable for burial or cremation (to include nameplate etc.), the sensitive disposal of fetal remains, open monthly memorial service for all affected families, deceased removals and transfers, care of the deceased prior to funeral / chapel of rest, provision of a hearse, cremation / cemetery fee, provision of a casket, embalming, doctors certificates.
