Expression of Interest - Call for Alternative Options for Royal Daffodil

Merseytravel is looking to appoint a preferred partner who in turn will provide Royal Daffodil with a sustainable future use for many years to come. Ideally, the partner will have experience of delivery in a range of refurbishment and regeneration projects and be well placed to offer innovation and investment to such an ambitious project. Merseytravel are therefore looking for proposals aimed at using the vessel in an imaginative way, which will see her future secured and the vessel put for alternative use. Merseytravel are looking for expressions of interest which will provide the following: - 1. Outline details of any proposal, including plans for the vessel and how she will be used in the future. It is not expected that the alternative proposal will see her in service on the River Mersey. 2. Details of how these proposals will be funded, including the capital refurbishment requirements and on-going revenue costs associated with the proposal. An investment plan would be welcomed to summarise these proposals. 3. Merseytravel are open to consider a range of options with the on-going ownership of the Vessel, and welcome the proposals to include details of whether ownership is proposed, a lease or potentially concession based arrangements. 4. Details of the proposed location of Royal Daffodil and where the proposals would see her based moving forward, whether in or out of water. 5. The impacts any such proposal would have on the local economy. Merseytravel would be particularly pleased if the project could assist with wider regeneration aims included skills/employment and enhancing the visitor economy. ***** Please Note ***** The purpose of this exercise is to ascertain what possible routes are available to further inform the future procurement exercise.
