Tender description

East Sussex County Council Council is seeking to engage with any qualified and suitable service providers in order to inform our future delivery of school meal services to educational establishments in the East Sussex area. The Council wishes to undertake market engagement to understand the following and inform future delivery: 1) Current market interest and capacity; 2) Factors affecting successful delivery; 3) Innovative delivery models; 4) Sustainability and food standard issues; 5) Value for Money and Commercial considerations Details on how to engage with the Council are included in Section VI: Complementary information. This is not a call for competition a separate Contract Notice will be published when the procurement procedure commences. The information given in this notice is only demonstrative of current arrangements and provided in order for interested organisations to understand the potential scope. The Council makes no guarantee that any or all of the services and scope detailed in the notice will be included in the same format in any future procurement. The contracts currently provide a school meals service throughout the County of East Sussex with the aim to meet statutory responsibilities, improve value for money for schools and parents, and provide the best possible quality healthy meals for children which as a minimum meet the Government standards set for school lunches. The current school meals service provides approximately 18 000 meals per day from approximately 150 school sites (136 Primary, 14 Secondary) across the County, this includes maintained primary, secondary schools, Special Schools, Academies and Free schools. Current arrangements expire in July 2019.
