Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) will shortly be inviting tenders for the supply of a quantity of replacement power cable for use in the refurbishment of all inter car power jumper cables on its MK4 fleet. Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) will shortly be inviting tenders for the supply of a quantity of replacement power cable for use in the refurbishment of all inter car power jumper cables on its MK4 fleet. The power cable is 6 Core (4 x 95mm2) + (2 x 10mm2). IÉ are issuing this market consultation notice to allow potential suppliers to suggest cable types which are available off the shelf and which would potentially offer IÉ with the most cost effective solution to its requirements. A number of images have been attached to this PIN showing the current installation and a drawing has been attached to show the application. The current cable is Nexans 213 (RY1500SSO SSF 63-827). It is anticipated that IÉ will be tendering for approximately 400 to 500 meters of cable. To participate in the market consultation companies are requested to provide a copy of the material datasheet they feel would be best suited to the needs IÉ along with some reference information from applications the cable is currently being used in.
