Tender description

NIE Networks is required to replace older electricity meters that fall due for replacement in any given year in order to comply with the Meter (Certification) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998. This is referred to as NIE Networks meter recertification programme. The primary purpose of this contract is for NIE Networks to outsource a portion of its meter recertification programme to the successful contractor to deliver in line with NIE Networks requirements. Following completion of the procurement process, NIE Networks wishes to enter into two framework agreements with the two contractors for this requirement. A framework agreement for all Works will be directly awarded to the first placed tenderer submitting the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) for this requirement. The second placed tenderer will be appointed as a “reserve”. The framework agreement(s) will be established for a period of four years with an option (exercisable entirely at NIE Networks discretion) to extend for up to 2 years (6 years in total).
