BURY COUNCIL INVITES TENDERS FROM SUITABLE CONTRACTORS FOR WORKS TO BUTTERSTILE PRIMARY SCHOOL, 1 SCHOOL GROVE, PRESTWICH, MANCHESTER M25 9RJ. Bury Council is to appoint a suitable electrical contractor to carry out electrical rewire and fire alarm works to Butterstile Primary School. An electrical contractor is defined as a contracting organisation which is a member of NICEIC and directly employs a minimum of 2nr approved electricians. Please note that a contractor questionnaire must be completed and returned with the tenders. For contractors to be appointed, they must first meet the following minimum criteria: 1. Proximity of contractor base to the works to allow 1 hour emergency response time 2. Acceptable health & safety accreditation ie recognised by SSIP 3. The company holds the necessary NICEIC registration and Gas Safe registration 4. Appropriate numbers of directly employed staff holding the necessary certification / qualifications 5. The average annual turnover from the past 2 years exceeds £1.5m 6. The contractors have experience of working in schools and the public sector 7. The contractors have successfully completed contracts in excess of £100k 8. Satisfactory references can be provided from school and public sector clients. (please note that where contractors have worked directly for Bury Council Children’s services in the last 2 years, references must be sought from Bury Council client representatives. 9. Sufficient insurance provision for public liability and employer’s liability (£5m).
