RFT Point Cloud Processing Solution

Tender description

Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi), the national mapping agency of Ireland, invites tenderers for the provision of Point Cloud Classification software, including the specifications for any necessary ancillary equipment, computer systems etc. for its successful operation and to enable processing of raw point cloud data. The Point Cloud Classification software will contribute to the generation and editing of Digital Terrain Models and Digital Surface Models in an automated process. OSi’s Remote Sensing operations are responsible for the acquisition and processing of National 25cm Orthophotography series and to support the production of 3D digital mapping products through the development of a 3D Landscape Model. Part of the function of the remote sensing team is the production of height information to maintain the Elevate Database, a National Digital Terrain Model, which supports Orthophotography processing and Digital Surface Model for other 3D products. OSi also will start to produce LAND Cover information on a national level which will be reliant on the processing of LIDAR and Aerial Sensor Data. This will mean that we will require classification of Point Cloud data into separated layers.
