North Yorkshire Smoke Free Service

Tender description

North Yorkshire County Council is undertaking the re-procurement of the North Yorkshire Stop Smoking Service services that are funded through the Public Health Grant. Service Details The current Stop Smoking Service, Smokefreelife North Yorkshire was commissioned in January 2016 and consisted of a single contract with Solutions4Health Ltd. The service is commissioned to offer an open access service with a particular focus on identified priority populations for North Yorkshire. The provider is responsible for any sub-contracting arrangements with GP’s and Pharmacies. Consultation and Engagement A North Yorkshire Tobacco Control Needs Assessment was undertaken in 2015 and this has been refreshed to help shape and re-frame any future service and will published shortly. As part of the re-procurement process the Public Health team have undertaken a short engagement exercise that has mainly involved qualitative techniques. Telephone and face to face interviews were developed for key partners including Clinical Commissioning Groups, Maternity Services, Mental Health Services, Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services and the current Stop Smoking Service Provider. Online surveys were also developed to capture feedback from GP’s and Pharmacies across North Yorkshire. Further consultation and engagement in relation to Primary Care aspects of the Stop Smoking Service is also planned to take place.
