Tender description
This project is funded by the European Structural Investment Funds. The University of Birmingham invites tenders for the supply of a high temperature mechanical test machine. The machine should have capability to carry out a range of tests under uniaxial loading at temperatures of up to 800 ºC in air. A particular requirement is to perform tests under slow fatigue and dwell fatigue cycles. The baseline cycle is trapezoidal 1-1-1-1 seconds and the dwell cycle is up to 1-3600-1-1 seconds. A machine rated to 100 kN equipped with a load cell of 100 kN is required. Although the value of this procurement is below the EU Public Procurement Threshold the University has self-imposed a 20 day full open publication of this tender. The budget for this equipment is approximately 45 000 GBP to 50 000 GBP. To be delivered by: the end of August 2018.
