Tender description

Medway Council and NHS Medway Clinical Commissioning Group (the Commissioners) are committed to procuring a high quality, effective and outcome focused service that provides value for money. We want a new model of working that ensures key health and social care priorities are addressed by the best placed organisations. This specification describes what commissioners want to achieve from a new service delivery model for key functions, some of which need to be delivered as part of the council’s legal obligations. These include “Healthwatch”, “Information, Advice and Guidance” (IAG), “Infrastructure”, “Carers' Support Services”, and “Welfare, Debt and Advice Support Services”. It sets out how commissioners believe these functions are best delivered. Infrastructure support is the term used to describe the services frontline voluntary and community organisations used to develop as organisations, represent their views and enable them to carry out their activities more effectively. This includes providing a voice for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS), facilitating partnerships and raising the profile of the sector with key stakeholders. Voluntary and Community Sector organisations have a vital role to play in public service delivery and effective working within the sector and with other stakeholders is crucial to ensure that public services are planned and delivered to achieve the best possible outcomes for local communities. Developing volunteering in Medway is a crucial part of this service.
