Anglia Ruskin University Higher Education Corporation is developing a new school of medicine on its Chelmsford Campus. The university is undertaking this tender process for the supply, installation and maintenance of patient simulator manikins. The appointed supplier will be required to supply, install, commission and maintain the equipment at the university in accordance with the terms of the agreement from this tender. The manikins will supplement the advanced scenario based simulation, primarily based around cardiorespiratory care, clinical ward based scenarios and in the development of new scenario teaching opportunities associated with our course. The manikins will be required to be delivered and fully commissioned before the start of the Medicine course in September 2018. Anglia Ruskin University is one of the largest Universities in the East of England and our main campuses are in Chelmsford, Cambridge, Peterborough and London. Anglia Ruskin University is developing a new School of Medicine on its Chelmsford Campus. The new School of Medicine building will contain primary and secondary care simulated environments and will be used for undergraduate teaching on our 5-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree and our inter professional post graduate CPD programmes. The manikins will supplement the advanced scenario based simulation, primarily based around cardiorespiratory care, clinical ward based scenarios and in the development of new scenario teaching opportunities associated with our MBChB course. The university is undertaking this tender process for the supply, installation and maintenance of patient simulator manikins. The appointed supplier will be required to supply, install, commission and maintain the equipment at the University in accordance with the terms of the agreement from this tender. Along with the fulfilment of the manikins for the Anglia Ruskin School of Medicine, it is intended to appoint the successful tenderer as the preferred supplier of manikin requirements for Anglia Ruskin University with a contract lengths 36 months with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months. The university will use simulation manikins in the practical delivery of our undergraduate medicine course. With an increased emphasis on simulated practice and human factors within an ever developing curriculum, all the manikins will need remote scenario programming and control which includes some vocal responses. It is anticipated, but is subject to change, that the university will initially purchase approximately 10 manikins from one supplier and further manikins may be purchased during the duration of this agreement as long as both parties agree in writing. The manikins will be required to be delivered and fully commissioned before the start of the medicine course in September 2018.
