Tender description
NWSSP-PS is issuing this PIN as a Request for Information (RFI) to engage with the Market seeking information and views to gain a better understanding of both the capacity and appetite for delivering a primary and secondary care solution for stoma services across NHS Wales. Please note: the PIN/RFI is NOT a call for competition; you will need to express your interest in any future tender once the Contract Notice is published in OJEU — on Sell2Wales (approx. end August 2018). The PIN/RFI invites individuals and organisations (I and O) to express an interest in this RFI exercise only. It is not a PQQ and is not part of any pre-qualification/selection process. An expression of interest is no indication of a commitment to participate in the RFI process nor does it infer any preferential or special status on those I and O who express an interest in the RFI exercise. This PIN/RFI is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise. Health Boards across NHS Wales provide a Colorectal and Stoma Service (The Service) to support patients who require a stoma (artificial opening in the abdomen allowing waste to exit the body). This is surgically performed most commonly for patients with Cancer, Colitis, Crohns Disease or inflammatory bowel disease. The current service consists of a multidisciplinary team with the overall aim of providing an integrated care pathway for patients spanning Primary Care and Secondary Care. Following surgery and an assessment by Clinical Nurse Specialist: Stoma / Colorectal, the patient is discharged into primary care with an initial supply of products and advice on obtaining further supplies. The CNS provide ongoing patient care via clinics. NWSSP-PS is keen to explore a Value Based Health Care approach in this area, which will provide the opportunity to not only consider costs but also the outcomes associated across the whole cycle of care, which will ultimately result in the best outcomes for all patients requiring stoma care provision across NHS Wales. NHS Wales are looking to work with a partner with a proven track record of supporting integrated health organisations successfully delivering sustained transformational improvement in this care domain, with the demonstrable experience in the collection of patient and clinical outcomes to ensure a Value Based, and first class healthcare solution is delivered.
