This opportunity is split into 2 Lots: Lot 1. The Authority is seeking a provider to develop a safe, but ambitious, deliverable, and commercially viable annual events programme, which offer a great entertainment experience complementing North East Lincolnshire’s wider events programme at the Meridian Showground, Cleethorpes. The Meridian Showground needs to be used in such a way that it maximises as many opportunities as possible, in order to deliver a full events programme throughout the year. Estimated value 200 000 GBP. Lot 2. The Authority is seeking a provider to develop an ambitious, deliverable, commercial and viable offer, which could include leisure, hospitality, arts, educational eco-tourism or retail activities for the Discovery Centre, Paddling Pool and Sandpit sites. The provider must offer an all year round family friendly venue, offering attractive activities and services for visitors and local residents. Estimated value 3 400 000 GBP. Providers can bid for either or both Lots. It will be the provider’s responsibility to deliver an ambition for excellence and a quality events programme that safely achieves successful and varied events, all year round from the Meridian Showground. This will contribute towards the area’s tourism, economic and community growth agenda, helping make North East Lincolnshire a great place to invest, work, live and visit. The Meridian Showground needs to be used in such a way that it maximises as many opportunities as possible, in order to deliver a full events programme throughout the year. Aims and outcomes include: — Improving the residents and visitors’ perception of the Meridian Showground; — Actively seeking any funding opportunities for the venue; — Increasing the number of returning visitors; — Increasing the frequency of events; — To help extend the season through accommodating out of season events; — To maximise the venue all year round to its full potential. The provider will take over the full management and day to day operations of the Discovery Centre, Sandpit and Paddling Pool and must meet the costs of delivering associated with this. The provider will deliver a safe, successful, quality service which contributes towards the resort’s tourism and economic growth agenda, and towards making North East Lincolnshire a great place to invest, work, live and visit. It is anticipated that the Cleethorpes Discovery Centre, Sandpit and Paddling Pool will help achieve the following aims: — To improve the residents and visitors’ perception of Cleethorpes Discovery Centre, Sandpit and Paddling Pool; — Actively seek any funding or investment opportunities for the venues; — Increase the number of returning visitors; — Increase the frequency and use of the Discovery Centre (and footfall) outside the traditional summer season, by accommodating out of season events/activities and hospitality offers to a mass audience; — To develop an ambitious, deliverable, commercial and viable offer, which could include leisure, hospitality, arts, educational eco-tourism or retail activities.
