Demolition of Existing and Construction of a New Single Storey Science Block at Prestwich Arts College

Contractors are required to submit in writing by 8th June 2018 their Expression of Interest for consideration of inclusion on the selected tender list for the above project; letters of response are to be lodged via The Chest. It is proposed to invite Design and Build Construction Tenders from a minimum of four selected Contractors for the forthcoming project at Prestwich Arts College, Heys Road, Prestwich, Manchester M25 1JZ. All contractors who wish to register their interest in this project are required to submit a completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) with their Expression of Interest submission. A tender list of a minimum four contractors will be selected from the responses received and will be selected on Experience (particularly school and college buildings), Deliverability within the given project timescale and available Resource. The project consists of the demolition/removal of the existing single storey timber modular building including removal of the existing foundations and sub-structure followed by the design and construction of a new single storey loadbearing masonry science teaching block having a minimum nett internal floor area = 220 sq.m It is expected that the successful contractor will provide all necessary documentation to comply with the School’s Control of Contractors Procedures. Details of membership/registration with CORGI, NHBC, CHAS, CSCS will be required and a DBS certification is desirable. The estimated contract value is £ 450,000 (excluding VAT) Tender invitation date is 18th June 2018 Tender return date is 6th July 2018 Contract award date is 20th July 2018 Contract form to be JCT Minor Works 2016 Design and Build Form of Contract. Contract Construction Period is 23rd July to 21st December 2018 (22 weeks) BUT the first phase of demolition and earthworks is to be carried out during the Summer Holiday period and is to be completed by 4th September 2018.
