Prior to commencing a formal procurement process and to help inform our final strategy /requirements, Leidos Supply Ltd (LSL), on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), would like to inform the market of this upcoming requirement to establish the likely level of interest and identify further opportunities and potential issues. Prior to commencing a formal procurement process and to help inform our final strategy /requirements, Leidos Supply Ltd (LSL), on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), would like to inform the market of this upcoming requirement to establish the likely level of interest and identify further opportunities and potential issues. For more information on Leidos Supply Ltd please see website https://www.leidos-supply.uk/ Scope of the requirement is system which includes a portable heater and the associated solid fuel to enable British Armed Forces to cook individual field rations in remote areas. The preferred solution should be: a— small and light weight <500 g, with fuel refill <300 g and be able to be carried a military utility pouch, b— capable of boiling 500 ml of water within 11 mins and maintain a temperature of no less than 75oC for a period of 5 minutes, for a minimum of 6 heating cycles in a 24 hours period. c— storage, minimum of 2 years shelf life and within temperature range (+ 40oC to - 15oC). d— function after it has been immersed in water, e— comply with the following regulations (minimum) — Regulation (EC) nº 1907 /2006 - Registration, Evaluation Authorisation and Restriction Chemicals (REACH), — the REACH enforcement Regulations 2008, International Air Transport Authority (IATA), — international organisation for international carriage by rail (RID), international carriage of dangerous goods by road (ADR) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG). It is our intention to invite those organisations who express an interest in this PIN to supplier engagement meetings. Please note this is not the start of a procurement process, a separate contract notice will be published to cover this requirement.
