Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF) Interim and Final Project Evaluation

Bury Council’s Children Young People and Culture Department are looking to commission a single provider who will evaluate the impact of the Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF) project. This project is funded by DfE to address the achievement gap for disadvantaged pupils throughout Bury, particularly at Key Stages 1 – 4. A large proportion of primary and secondary schools are engaged in the project, making use of school-to-school support. Some schools are identified as receivers of support, others as providers, but also many are both receivers and providers. The project activity is divided into three strands: • Strand 1 – Removing literacy barriers to accessing learning for disadvantaged pupils at Key Stages 1 and 2 • Strand 2 – Removing barriers to accessing learning for disadvantaged pupils in Bury primary and secondary schools through effective pupil premium strategies and effective use of support staff. • Strand 3 – Removing barriers to accessing learning for disadvantaged pupils in Bury secondary schools through improving transition in literacy Keywords: numeracy, literacy, consultancy, schools
