SPS01242 Provision of a Consulting Contractor for Union Chain Bridge, Northumberland

Tender description

Northumberland County Council is looking to appoint a Consulting Contractor for the Heritage Lottery Funded 'Union Chain Bridge: crossing borders, inspiring communities' project. The project involves a complex range of stakeholders - it is being undertaken jointly between Northumberland and Scottish Borders Councils with Woodhorn Charitable Trust (WCT) providing operational support - and a range of consultancies. Northumberland County Council in partnership with Scottish Borders Council are planning major structural repairs to the bridge, which includes wrought and cast-iron components as well as the masonry tower / anchorages and the environs. The Consulting Contractor will be required to review the provided drawings, specifications and methodologies from the Contracting Authority, provide guidance on the feasibility of construction and to provide priced bill of quantities of each item of work, methodologies, programmes and risk assessments associated with the completion of each item.
