Allerdale Borough Council is seeking to appoint an urban/landscape design consultant to work with a Steering Group to transform the underpass and associated public realm that leads from Central Way to the Leisure Centre car park in Workington. The underpass and associated public space (which lacks any kind of coherent design) needs to be re-designed as a highly functional and inviting thoroughfare to meet the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, cars and service vehicles.
