Tender description

Arc21 is procuring a contractor(s) on behalf of 6 Councils. The contract will be split into 2 Lots to reflect different waste configurations. The main purpose of the service is the receipt, transfer, processing and brokerage of wheeled bin kerbside collected comingled dry recyclable materials and separately collected mixed glass from households and commercial premises, including, but not exclusive to materials such as paper, card, cardboard, tins, cans, aluminium foil, beverage cartons and plastics including bottles and mixed rigid plastic. The method and configuration of Councils’ waste collections, including scope, extent and schedules, may vary and change during the contract term. It is envisaged these may include, but not be limited to, the provision for the receipt & brokerage of material collected from a system that entails some separation into material types at the kerbside instead of wheeled bin kerbside collected material. Lot 1 comprises of the receipt and brokerage of mixed dry recyclable materials with separately collected mixed glass collected from households and commercial premises in the arc21 area. The method and configuration of arc21’s relevant member Councils’ waste collections, including their scope, extent and schedules, may vary and change during the contract term. It is envisaged that these variations and changes may include, but not be limited to, the provision for the receipt and brokerage of material collected from a system that entails some separation into material types at the kerbside instead of wheeled bin kerbside collected material. The successful Contractor will be expected to cope with any such changes at no extra cost to arc21. Lot 2 comprises of the receipt and brokerage of mixed dry recyclable materials including comingled mixed glass collected from households and commercial premises in the arc21 area.
