Tender description

The Supplier will provide IT Structured Cabling Goods and Services. The 2 Trusts intend to award one maintenance and installation contract for the entire Trust network structured cabling system across both sites. The Trusts’ current core cabling infrastructure; which is the backbone of the Trusts IT Network, and carries vast amounts of both of both Voice and Data communication daily has grown organically over the past decade as the use of Information Technology has become increasingly more important and vital to the day to day duties and functions of the staff and their patients. The Southend network features 2 core switches and 47 hub rooms. Each hub room has either OM3 or OS1 fibre optic cabling run back to each core. Local access cabling from each hub room is CAT5E. The Basildon network features 4 core switches, 2 in the main hospital and 2 in the CTC and 44 hub rooms. Each room has either OM1/OM3 fibre and some have additional OS1 fibre back to each core in their respective buildings. Cabling for the hub rooms is CAT5E in the main building and CAT6 in the CTC building. The 2 Trusts intends to award once maintenance and installation contract for the entire Trust network structure.
