Tender description
This VEAT notice is intended to provide notice of the CCGs' intention to award a 12 month contract to the incumbent provider of MIIU services in Peterborough, to provide services for Peterborough and surrounding area, to enable the CCG align a number of Urgent care contracts, across the STP footprint of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG. This will be a short term 12-month contract awarded to the incumbent provider of the MIIU service at the City Care Centre in Peterborough. This extension will enable the CCG to assess the alignment of a number of Urgent Care contracts, across the STP footprint of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG and allow adequate planning time to understand how the C&P urgent care services could be better co-ordinated, and how C&P could best utilise the finite clinical labour at its disposal and avoid provisioning a number of GP led services from the same location. This is critical to the success of the C&P strategy overall for urgent care, extended access, UTC and primary care access. During this period, the CCG will focus on collecting data and building a service specification that incorporates all applicable Urgent care standards and that may be extended to the MIUs across the CCG in Wisbech, Ely and Doddington. In addition, will allow a period for the CCG to produce a well-structured model for the procurement. This data collection and service specification development will include as a minimum: Data around, timing of appointments — days/hours, planned and actual slot usage (Nurse and GP), booking/referral patterns to and from service, DNA and cancellation rates of patients and business continuity. Specific focus during this time will be the integration with the wider urgent care services 24/7 and utilising the primary care element to create a service as detailed in the national specifications for both services. VI.4) The CCG intends to operate quarterly engagement forums with interested providers later in the year to share data and information about the development of these services in order to allow potential providers to ready themselves and the market for the full procurement in 2018/19. Any providers interested in attending these meetings should contact: capccg.uecreturns@nhs.net
