Tender description

The Ministry of Defence has a legal responsibility to ensure that its operations are conducted in as safe manner as is reasonably practicable, as stipulated in the Secretary of State for Defence's policy statement “Safety, Health and Environmental Protection in the Ministry of Defence”, and the provision of an Independent Consultancy forms part of this process. To achieve this, the RAF requires an independent organisation to advise on RAF Airfield Wildlife Control policy, as well as the standardisation and performance of unit Airfield Wildlife Control personnel, in compliance with UK Government legal obligations. In order to ensure compliance with RA3270 and the Manual of Aerodrome Design and Safeguarding (MADS), an Independent Specialist provides support to the conduct of a variety of assurance, training, analysis and survey tasks at MOD aerodromes. This includes a requirement to provide specialist advice and command oversight of all personnel (including contractors) carrying out Airfield Wildlife Control at MOD aerodromes, in order to ensure that UK best practices are adopted and maintained in order to reduce the associated hazards.
