Tender description

This opportunity is available via The Chest https://www.the-chest.org.uk/ The Council proposes to enter into the Contracts for a period of 3½ years with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider) plus an option to extend for a further 12 months. The Contract term may only be extended if it was advertised on this basis and the Council shall have absolute discretion to extend the contract. The Services have been divided into the following work packages (Lots): — Lot 1: general Waste. — Lot 2: recycling Waste. — Lot 3: confidential Waste. Service Providers will deliver the service for the removal and disposal of general waste, recycling materials and confidential waste from corporate properties (Sites) in Cumbria, such as: — residential Care homes and Day Care Centres (run by the Council’s in-house provider, Cumbria Care). — cumbria Fire and Rescue Service. — office sites. — library and Registration Services. — childrens Centres. General waste generated from the corporate properties within the geographical boundaries of Cumbria will be mainly light commercial waste. This is basically any waste except for concrete, bricks, roof tiles, aggregates, sand or soil. This service offers Customers the option to segregate their recyclable materials generated from the corporate properties within the geographical boundaries of Cumbria into a dry mixed receptacle, in variant sizes; these are likely to include: — cardboard, — plastic, — aluminium / Steel Cans, — glass. Confidential (and Classified) Waste is identified mainly as: — paper Documents (there may be some paper waste contamination such as staples, paper clips, clips, treasury tags), — folders and files (manila / ring binder / lever arch), — diaries.
