Arranged over basement, ground floor and first floor the accommodation in the extension provides new floor space totalling 1 111 m2. The design incorporates mixed — use and shared spaces that results in an efficient design. A main stair in the entrance foyer connects to the basement and first floor. The basement accommodates toilets,shower, rehearsal spaces, storage, plant, piano lift, condition controlled instrument store room and office space, which benefits from pavement glazed natural daylight from above. At ground floor, a singular main entrance is provided as a triple height volume with glass roof light to offer full views of St Peter's tower. The ground floor houses the reception, box office, cafe, bar and kitchen. The first floor includes 2 smaller rehearsal rooms, a conductors rooms and a larger double height rehearsal space, with full height glazing, looking out to cutting room square. The works comprises a new build extensions and alterations/ refurbishment to Hallé, St Peters. Construction of new space totalling 1 111 m2 split over basement, first and second floor plant / roof space. Facilities will include; office space, rehearsal and practice rooms, cafe, kitchen, box office and reception. Works will include; new lift installations,mechanical and electrical installations, specialist theatre installations and acoustic rated products, curtain walling, structural glazing, steel frame construction, cladding and external drainage.
