Tender description

Coventry University is seeking an experienced design and build contractor to work with us to construct a second engineering and computing building. The project comprises the construction of a new 4 storeys, circa 5 366 m² GIA building to accommodate the faculty of engineering, environment and computing on an existing car park. The contractor will be selected through a single stage tender for a design and build contract. Coventry University will require the successful tenderer to enter into a JCT design and build contract 2016 with amendments. Coventry University's design team will not be novated but will remain in a client compliance monitoring role. The project comprises of the following high level activities: — site clearance and earthworks to the existing car park, — piled foundations, — steel frame and precast concrete superstructure, — facade and roofing, — bridge link to the existing ECB1, — internal fit out, — installation of loose furniture and AV equipment, — installation and commissioning of building services, — external works including soft and hard landscaping, — minor alterations and refurbishment works to the residual car park.
