Tender description

Location: A1 stretch between South Muskham (X: 480097, Y: 357061) and Coddington (X: 482219, Y: 354544). 1.2 Scope of works 1.2.1 The works to be provided under this contract are: (1) The Ground Investigation Provider shall carry out five boreholes located within the verge, not the carriageway, capable of progression through superficial deposits and rotary cored through bedrock with sampling of soil, rock and groundwater, in situ (standard penetration testing) and laboratory testing, geotechnical and environmental laboratory testing as detailed in Schedule 2. (2) The investigation includes working adjacent to a live highway with lane 1 closure and night time working and shall be completed within 5 night time road closures. 1.3 Deliverables 1.3.1 The Contractor is required to produce the following deliverables: (1) A factual report recording the results of the investigation and AGS data to 3.1 format shall be submitted to the Investigation Supervisor. The objectives of the ground investigation are to identify and obtain the following: The ground conditions and groundwater conditions at the exploratory hole locations; Geotechnical properties for use in design; and The presence and characteristics of any contaminated ground and groundwater.
